With increasing population the demand for better living is also increasing . The greed of humans for development at the cost of nature is producing a large amount of waste everyday. Maximum part of the garbage is consists of non biodegradable waste. The amount of this waste is getting increased day by day and hence it is getting difficult to get rid it. So, there is a great need of management and control of waste.
“Waste management or waste disposal are all the activities and actions required to manage waste from its inception to its final disposal. This includes amongst other things collection, transport, treatment and disposal of waste together with monitoring and regulation. It also encompasses the legal and regulatory framework that relates to waste management encompassing guidance on recycling.”
Importance of Waste Management :
The basic approach to the management and control of wastes involves production of minimum waste, proper disposal of waste and following 3R’s i.e. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
